Video Title

Decide a title that is clear in meaning, compelling to watch, and concise in measure, preferably less than 60 characters.

Description
Generally, on YouTube, the description box shows a few characters (approx.100) in a few lines. To read further, the user has to click on the “Show more” option, which will then reveal the entire information listed. So you need to be picky in putting up the first few lines of your description in a very capturing fashion, such that there will be spontaneous realization by the viewer that your video has a solution to their problem.

Hashtags

End Screens

Optimize your videos for Mobile viewing
Majority of the videos are watched using a Mobile. So customize your videos such that they are mobile friendly in terms of screen size, clarity and quality.
Shorten your videos as much as possible
Videos that are too long won’t be preferred by the viewers. This happens when there is unnecessary content in the video that is irrelevant to the topic or too many repetitions. According to studies, videos of 2 minutes duration have been getting the most number of views. Try to portray the content in a very crisp manner. Be precise, engaging and conversational.
The Indian YouTube channel “Sanam” that is well known for their originals and renditions of old Bollywood songs, today has a subscriber count of 6.95 Millions and each of their videos, usually 3 to 5 minutes long, gain 2.4 Million to 4.5 Million views easily.
Channels like “5-minute recipes” always upload videos in the range of 6 to 10 minutes. Although the channel has a subscriber count of around 5 million only, a lot of their videos manage to get views of above 100 million.
Feature the video on your YouTube page
Once you have uploaded your video to YouTube, remember to feature it on the front page. When a viewer visits your channel, the latest video should be the first one on display. It not only brings attention to the video, but also shines light on how organized and updated your channel is.
Add a pop-up on your website
Using your other social media handles to promote your YouTube videos is a smart way of marketing too. When people visit your website, a pop up about your YouTube video there might trigger their curiosity and interest, and help add views to your video. Since you are highlighting the video, it’ll set an impression of your self confidence and creativity.
Make use of Social Bookmarks

Create Entertaining Content that will pump up your audience
Something that went extremely viral during 2012 was a K-pop single by the South Korean musician PSY, named “Gangnam Style”. The song was immensely praised for its catchy beat and PSY’s power packed dance, which in itself had become a phenomenon.
The song became the first ever video to have gained a Billion views on YouTube and was later recognized by the Guinness World Records as the most liked video on YouTube. The influence around the world was so much that the dance was tried out by political figures like David Cameron, Barack Obama, and Ban Ki-moon.

Once the viewers find your video attractive, you’ll earn views in no time. By word of mouth and shares online, your video will be in the process of going viral. And who knows what it holds for the future?
Well, do you know which was the most viewed video on YouTube in 2007? Who wouldn’t have watched the adorable kids, Harry and Charlie, seated comfortably on a chair in the viral video, “Charlie bit my finger”?
Audience all over the world fell head over heels in awe at Harry’s whine “Charlie bit me. And that really hurt.”, followed by Charlie’s cute giggle. The 56 seconds long video, had received 2.6 million views on YouTube by early 2008 and eventually took over the title of the most viewed video by October 2009. Something as simple as two young brothers messing around with each other, was capable of all the worldy attention.
Create exclusive original content
Nisha Madhulika is a world famous Indian chef, who rose to fame through her blog where she wrote recipes for Indian Vegetarian dishes. She then launched her YouTube channel exclusively for food and recipe in 2011, and now the channel gains over 18 million views every month. She became the YouTube top chef in 2014, and was also named among “India’s top 10 YouTube superstars” in 2016 by Economic Times. She won the Top YouTube Cooking Content Creator award in 2017.

She has over 8.2 Million subscribers, 1,515 videos and 3,118,036,995 views on her YouTube channel as of today.
Another example in this case is that of Canadian YouTuber of Indian descent, Lilly Singh, better known by her pseudonym IISuperWomanII. She began her YouTube channel in 2010 under this name, that reflected her childhood belief that she can achieve anything.

She became popular through her comedy videos, with a touch of Punjabi culture, wherein she acts as herself, and her fictional parents, Paramjeet and Manjeet.

Her videos were satirical and lauded by fans. By 2017, she was ranked tenth on the Forbes list of the world’s highest paid YouTube stars. As of today, she has a subscriber count of 14.9 Million and around 3 Billion views.
Don’t underestimate the power of a common man!
Yes, that’s the famous dialogue by Shah Rukh Khan from Chennai Express. I have used it here to stress on the fact that majority of the world famous YouTubers today were only common men and women like us when they started. It’s the dedication and motivation from their surroundings that drove them this far in their career.
Ashish Chanchlani’s video “How to annoy people who say – tu mere baap ko jaanta hai” went viral in December 2014. He continued creating content for YouTube, in the form of comedy skits of 8 to 10 minutes. Today he has 16.2 Million subscribers and a total of 1.6 Billion views till date.
Oh wait, that’s not it! I’m going to drop a bomb now…
A part of one of his videos was even played on a screen in the backdrop of the 2019 film Men in Black: International. Woah!! Here’s the proof.
Show your genuine concern towards satisfying your viewers
Shruthi Arjun Anand, an Indian, shot her first YouTube video using a point and shoot camera. She tried out some fancy hairstyles and uploaded an unedited version of the videos on her channel. She learnt some softwares and improved her editing skills, following which she received good feedback from the audience. Her husband then encouraged her to take YouTube filming as a full time career. Ever since, her viewers’ base has widened, with people including those who own beauty parlours showing their gratitude towards her honest content. Her husband and other family members also joined in, contributing time and efforts for her full time career.

She wanted to work for her viewers. She wanted them to enjoy her videos, for which she focused on positivity which consequently reflected in them too. She also filtered her content according to her audience’s age interval, for their comfort.
In an interview taken by YSWeekender, Shruti said:
“I am very conscious about the content I put out because I have younger audiences. I watch the video 4-5 times, then my husband and the editors watch it, and I filter out all content that anyone thinks could be remotely vulgar. For example, when I was working on a video about menstrual cups, I had my family telling me to change the kind of words I was using. I balance it out. I feel a lot of people on Youtube don’t do that, and I can see the difference in their video comments and views”
Build an organic view traffic
To be in a healthy online business, its of utmost importance to work within legal limits.
Staying away from illegal means is of prime importance once you step into YouTube Marketing.
Be ready to contribute your time and effort for the growth of your own business. Use legit ways to improve views. Its highly advised to stay away from using illegal means like view bots which are against YouTube’s principles.
There are marketing pages which promise to help you build your views, provided that you pay them a bulky sum; as much as $100 for a few thousand videos. What’s the whole point there? In my opinion, don’t even consider spending money on the bot views or proxies. They don’t provide high quality traffic either. Just inactive bots that YouTube has already marked fraudulent.
Technology is constantly developing and so are YouTube’s bot detection capabilities growing stronger and better.
Don’t try to fool the YouTube Algorithm. It won’t just look at the number of views your video is getting, but also pays significant attention to user behavior. There are clear evidences of videos that have been flagged or removed by YouTube in the past. Don’t let any illegal crowd manipulate you into emptying your pockets.
So stay safe, play smart, work ethical!
